Listen to the Sound - Building 429
Listen to the sound of hope that’s rising up, over your old horizons. ~
He Saves.
(He Has Saved Me. by Emily Schaefer)
From the depression I held in my heart,
from the doubt that hung over my head.
From the fear that lurked in the dark,
to the shadow of anger that tore me apart.
From the slow sting of self infliction,
I thought to have ‘deserved,’
to all the pain I’ve felt, all the hurt I’ve dealt.
From all the grudges I could never release,
to the secrets and regrets I would always keep.
From the chains that bound so deep,
to the monster that suffocated me in my sleep.
While I still struggle, I’m now well aware,
He’s healing me all the time—
I’m no longer caught in a snare.
My prayer for you, though you’ve heard it all before,
Is that your heart won’t be hardened,
but be completely restored.
Open your heart, come now, let Him in,
Ask Him for forgiveness, go ahead, He’ll work within.
Just take that first step, what have you got to loose?
Right now, I promise it’s worth it; He swore it to you.
Just take a second, consider this phrase:
Never again will you be alone in the dark,
Because. Jesus. Saves.

‘Cause they don’t even know you
All they see is scars
They don’t see the angel
Living in your heart
Let them find the real you
Buried deep within
Let them know with all you got
That you are not your skin

Sound the bugle now - play it just for me
As the seasons change - remember how I used to be
Now I can’t go on - I can’t even start
I’ve got nothing left - just an empty heart
I’m a soldier - wounded so I must give up the fight
There’s nothing more for me - lead me away…
Or leave me lying here.
Sound the bugle now - tell them I don’t care
There’s not a road I know - that leads to anywhere
Without a light I fear that I will stumble in the dark
Lay right down - decide not to go on
Then from on high - somewhere in the distance
There’s a voice that calls, “Remember who you are”
If you lose yourself - your courage soon will follow
So be strong tonight - remember who you are
Yeah you’re a soldier now - fighting in a battle
To be free once more - yeah, that’s worth fighting for
